This week marks three years of Solmates Australia - and what an adventure it’s been! 

How It All Began

Like many Aussie families, we found ourselves surrounded by half-used plastic sunscreen bottles - scattered across beach bags, cars, and bathrooms. We tried buying in bulk to cut down on waste, but lugging around giant bottles wasn’t exactly practical.

So we asked ourselves: What if there was a better way?

After two years of sketches, prototypes, and plenty of sunscreen spills, our Solmates refillable roll-on applicator was born — a reusable, thoughtfully designed applicator made to be loved, used, and reused.

Our Mission (and Why It Still Matters)

From day one, our goal has been simple: To create reusable products that make it easier and more fun to choose sustainability every day.

We’ve always believed that caring for the planet shouldn’t feel like a chore — it should fit naturally into the way we live, play, and explore. Our products are designed to go wherever life takes you, helping you carry less and care more.

What We’ve Achieved Together

Solmates have found their way into bags, backpacks, and backyards across Australia (and beyond!). 

We’ve seen them filled with sunscreen, moisturisers, special creams, gels and even insect repellent - proof that reusability doesn’t have to be boring. We’ve launched new colours, new sizes, and worked on new designs - all made right here in Australia, using recycled materials and built to last.

And most importantly, we’ve built a lovely community of people who share our belief that when enough of us take small steps, together we can make a big impact.

What’s Next

As we head into our third year and beyond, we’re continuing to grow the Solmates range - creating reusable essentials that make sustainability simple, stylish, and second nature.

Because at the end of the day, we’re here for one thing: To make every adventure a little kinder, a little more sustainable, and a heap more fun.
