Care & Use

Your Solmates should be thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis. Solmates are designed for the immediate transport and application of substances within a short period of time, not for long-term storage.

To clean out all parts of your Solmate:

Unscrew the lid and the base (please do not try to remove the roller ball)
Using detergent and a brush or similar, thoroughly scrub and clean all parts
Rinse off detergent
Leave your Solmates to fully dry before using again

Sustainability

Each Solmates fights plastic waste - by reducing the need for single-use plastic bottles, made with recycled plastic to reuse existing plastic waste and profits help fund ocean plastic waste clean up. We also reuse production offcuts and imperfect items and have a consumer takeback program to recycle old Solmates.

All our packaging is made from 100% recycled materials, printed with plant based inks and is 100% recyclable. Plus our stickers, tape and labels are compostable.

FAQs

Do the applicators and pots come with sunscreen included?

No. The product is designed to be refilled by you with whatever you need, rather than arriving pre-filled.

Do the applicators work with zinc / mineral sunscreen?

Yes, it works well with many mineral (zinc‑based) creams and lotions. You can see more information on what works well in your Solmates here.

Can I use spray or liquid sunscreen in the applicators?

We don’t recommend it. Very thin or spray sunscreens can leak because the seals and ball gap are designed for thicker creams. You can see a list of tested sunscreens here.

Are the Solmates pots and applicators safe for children to use?

Yes! They are suitable for the whole family. The applicators make it easy for children to apply sunscreen with less mess, while the pots are great for sunscreen, creams, snacks and all sorts of little essentials.
